LT Group supports drive to fight COVID-19
MANILA — LT Group, Inc., the holding firm of taipan Lucio C. Tan, on Thursday donated much-needed ethyl alcohol, bottled water and face masks to frontline health workers leading the fight against COVID-19.
Under a disaster-relief program called “Help Flows,” LT Group, Inc. said it donated 400 4-liter bottles (1,600 liters) of ethyl alcohol – part of the total 20,000 liters it committed to deliver to the Department of Health (DoH) – for distribution to various government medical facilities. The group also turned over to DoH 70,000 bottles of Absolute 350ml and 3,000 6-liter bottles of distilled drinking water plus 2,000 pieces of N95 face masks.
On top of donations coursed through DoH, the company is also preparing 20,000 4-liter bottles and 240,000 375ml bottles of ethyl alcohol plus 350,000 bottles of Absolute 350ml white label distilled water for its employees, local government units and other frontline agencies like the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Earlier, LT Group donated through GMA’s Kapuso Foundation 24,000 bottles of Cobra Vitamin C and 1,500 6-liter bottles of Absolute bottled water for those manning border patrols and several hospitals. This brings total donations to 190,000 liters of ethyl alcohol and almost 200,000 liters of distilled drinking water.
LT Group president Michael G. Tan thanked a combined team from Asia Brewery, Inc. and Tanduay Distillers, Inc. for conceptualizing and producing the initial batch of ethyl alcohol in four days.
Upon instructions of his father, Dr. Lucio C. Tan, he said the group continues to pool resources to further assist government in the COVID-19 crisis which led to a Luzon-wide quarantine effective March 17, 2019.
“Help Flows” is supported by LT Group member firms Asia Brewery, Inc., Eton Properties Philippines, Inc., PMFTC Inc.’s Embrace CSR program, Tanduay Distillers, Inc., Philippine National Bank and sister company Philippine Airlines.
