AWPI takes artists’ welfare to an empowering level
The Artists Welfare Project Inc. (AWPI) organized in 2007 will have its General Assembly on September 29, 2019 at the Silangan Hall 4th Floor, Cultural Center of the Philippines Roxas Boulevard from 1pm to 5pm.
AWPI has sustained the coming together of Filipino artists from different disciplines; artists guided by the vision of an increasingly empowered and self-reliant Filipino artists’ sector that is better able to provide for its own needs with the help of government, business, and civil society institutions that care for artists and the arts. AWPI’s mission is to facilitate Filipino artists’ participation in government programs for medical, hospitalization, disability, incapacity, retirement, housing and similar benefits; to contribute to the Filipino artists’ empowerment through capacity building programs on artists’ rights, arts management, arts education, wellness, legal information, and other areas of concern; and to engage in activities that sustain the organization.
Its Board members led by Fernando Josef, Mae Paner, Ronnie Lazaro, Lisa Macuja, and Dennis Marasigan continue to enjoin artists, cultural workers and the creative sector to be part of national development. The General Assembly is open to all members and artists who wants to know more about Philhealth Service, HMO for Artists, The Artist Village Project, BIR for Creatives and the Artist Welfare Act updates.
