The Philippine Association of University Women, University of the Philippines Chapter (PAUW-UP) continues its commitment to creative learning and community-building through two more workshops this Saturday, July 12, 2025. These activities will culminate in the three-day PAUW Haus Arts Workshop Series + Festival set for October this year.
The next sessions offer opportunities for participants to explore new mediums and engage in hands-on artistic experiences:
- Printmaking Workshop (9am-12nn): Facilitated by the Hanan Printmaking Group, this session introduces traditional and experimental print techniques in a collaborative setting.
- Puppet Making Workshop (1:30-4:30pm): Mentored by Aina Ramolete (Teatro Mulat ng Pilipinas) and children’s theater artist V Soriano, this fun, family-friendly session celebrates the rich tradition of Filipino puppetry.
The workshops are open to the public and will be held at the U.P. Diliman College of Fine Arts Printmaking Studios and the U.P. Executive House, respectively. “These workshops are designed to make the arts more accessible while deepening appreciation for local creative traditions,” says Dr. Grace Javier-Alfonso.
These initiatives uphold PAUW’s longstanding role to enhance education, cultural appreciation and enrichment, community service, and inclusivity, while welcoming diverse communities to participate in creative, socially conscious learning experiences.
Spearheaded by the U.P. PAUW Committee on Arts, Culture, Music, and History, it is led by Chairperson Dr. Grace Javier-Alfonso and Vice Chair Prof. Mitzi Aguilar-Reyes. The PAUW Haus Arts Workshop + Festival draws inspiration from, the progressive spirit of the Bauhaus and feminist art movements.
