The port, a pet project of Savellano, is designed to accommodate cruise ships and is seen as an economic booster for Ilocos Sur. The first cruise ship docked on December 26 with 5000 passengers. The second was on January 6 with 6000 passengers. Two more ships are coming in February and March.
