LMP gathers over 1,400 mayors for 2025 assembly
The League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) officially opens its 2025 General Assembly at The Manila Hotel from February 10–13, bringing together over 1,400 municipal mayors to tackle governance, sustainability, and economic resilience.
With the theme “Legacy of Leadership, Sustainable Future: Leaders Building Together for National Progress,” the assembly serves as a crucial platform to align local strategies with national development goals.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will address the mayors during the President’s Hour on February 12, reinforcing Malacañang’s commitment to strengthening local governance.
“This assembly is about empowering our mayors with innovative solutions, strategic partnerships, and governance best practices,” said LMP National President and La Paz, Abra Mayor Joseph Bernos
Highlights of the event include the Graduation Ceremony for three-termer mayors, honoring their service and leadership; panel discussions on climate resilience, urbanization, public-private partnerships, and citizen engagement; and workshops on governance innovation, sustainability initiatives, and funding opportunities.
With climate change, urban expansion, and economic shifts posing major challenges, the event also fosters collaboration among mayors, national leaders, and private sector partners to build resilient and progressive municipalities.
The LMP General Assembly 2025 continues the organization’s mission to equip local executives with the tools and policies needed to drive long-term, community-driven development.
