Caloocan City bags 8th consecutive Seal of Good Local Governance
MANILA, Philippines — The City Government of Caloocan has once again been recognized with the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), marking its eighth consecutive award.
This milestone underscores the city’s consistent excellence in areas such as financial management, disaster preparedness, business competitiveness, social protection, and public safety.
Caloocan City stands as one of only two local government units in the Philippines to achieve this distinction for eight consecutive years since the inception of the SGLG program by the DILG.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan expressed his gratitude to the city’s public servants and employees, acknowledging their integral role in achieving the award.
“The City Government of Caloocan proudly accepts the eighth consecutive SGLG, and I likewise commend all my colleagues in the city hall for their untiring dedication to help our administration provide the best quality of public service to our constituents,” Malapitan said.
The mayor emphasized the importance of good governance in sustaining the city’s progress and assured residents of continued improvements in public service.
“The SGLG is a testament to our efficient, honest, progressive, and people-oriented service to all Batang Kankaloo. We dedicate this achievement to all of you,” he said.
In reaffirming his administration’s commitment, Malapitan vowed to uphold accountability and transparency.
“You can expect that we will continue to go beyond our responsibilities and repay your strong trust by maintaining an accountable and corruption-free governance,” he said.
The SGLG, initiated by the DILG, is awarded to local government units that excel in key performance areas, serving as a benchmark for exemplary local governance across the Philippines.
