New officers of the Association of Philippine Journalists-Samahang Plaridel sworn in
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administers the oath of office for the new officers of the Association of Philippine Journalists-Samahang Plaridel Foundation, Inc. led by (L-R) Evelyn Quiroz as President; Andy Sevilla, Vice President; Carmelita Valdez, Auditor; Rowena Ocfemia, PRO; Atty. Hector Villacorta, Secretary; Joey de Guzman, PRO; and Eduardo Andaya (partly hidden), Reynaldo delos Reyes, Ramoncito Henares, Vito Barcelo and Marc Anthony Reyes as members of the board of trustees. In simple rites at Malacanang’s Kalayaan Hall, President Marcos cited the invaluable role of a free press and a robust media in ensuring a vibrant and functioning Philippine democracy.
