DepEd recognizes education-related projects of Vivant group
Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte recognized the contributions of the Vivant group to the Department of Education’s MATATAG Agenda during the agency’s recent Partners’ Appreciation and Recognition Night.
Member-companies of the Vivant group, namely Vivant Energy Corporation, 1590 EC, and Calamian Islands Power Corporation as well as partially controlled Visayan Electric Company, have been implementing programs and projects focused on uplifting the quality of public education in its partner communities through their corporate social responsibility arm Vivant Foundation (VFI).
Since its establishment in 2014, the Vivant group, through VFI, has constructed science laboratories; donated laboratory tools and equipment; built school buildings, classrooms and handwashing facilities; provided support for distance learning; provided STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) scholarships and supported the Central Visayas Regional Science and Technology Fair; as well as upgraded the Electrical Installation and Maintenance track offering of public senior high schools and supplied electricity through solar power in schools located in off-grid areas.
