The Real Autonomy Now Movement or “RAnow Movement” is a collective initiative of the people of Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte aimed at extending the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) until June 2028.

Under the Republic Act No. 11593, there is a three-year extension for the BTA until next year, but the public believes that this is not enough to guarantee stability and development in the region.

This initiative, backed by 32 organizations and various sectors from Lanao provinces, calls for another three-year extension for BTA due to public clamor.

The RAnow Movement has drafted a resolution supporting Senate Bill No. 1874, authored by Senator Raffy Tulfo, and House Bill No. 4213, authored by Rep. Sittie Aminah Dimaporo to further urge the extension of BTA.

Both bills propose the extension of BTA to have enough time to fulfill its power and duty and to ensure the successful implementation of the Bangsamoro Organic Law.

As the BTA transition period nears its end, the RAnow Movement and its supporters emphasize the importance of extending the period to guarantee stability and sustain the gains of the peace process in the region.

They believe that this extension will provide the necessary time and resources for the region to overcome its existing issues, promote harmony among diverse communities, boost economic growth, and enhance social services, leading to peace and prosperity for the Bangsamoro people.

BTA, as the interim regional government of BARMM, is currently under a transition phase until 2025.
