7th HERO GOLF CUP FOR THE EDUCATION OF MILITARY ORPHANS HELD

HERO Foundation, Inc. successfully held the 7th HERO Golf Cup 2024: A Golf Tournament for the Education of the Children of our Fallen Soldiers last March 08 at the Camp Aguinaldo Golf Course. The ceremonial tee off was graced by the presence of the HERO Board of Trustee Mr. Michael Tan, Mr. Rocky Nazareno, who represented HERO Board of Trustee Dr. Emilio Yap III, Mr. Aubrey Carlson, spouse of the US Ambassador to the Philippines, Col Ariel Querubin and The Deputy Chief of Staff, Lt Gen Charlton Gaerlan PN (M), representing the AFP Chief of Staff. The event was also witnessed by HERO Foundation Executive Director, MGen Victor Bayani AFP (Ret), and HERO Board of Trustee Mr. Aniceto Bisnar Jr.

Almost 100 golfers participated in the tournament to show their support to the military orphans.
Mr. Jingy Tuazon was declared the Over-All champion, while Ms. Ma. Theresa Perez won the Ladies Championship.

The net proceeds of the tournament which is 100% of the total amount raised will be utilized to fund the educational needs of orphaned children and dependent siblings of soldiers who were permanently incapacitated or killed due to enemy action or during disaster relief operations.

Founded in 1988, HERO (Help Educate and Rear Orphans) Foundation, Inc., is the largest partner of the Armed Forces of the Philippines that is committed to helping orphans of Filipino soldiers finish school and become their family’s future breadwinners. Currently, HERO Foundation is supporting 232 scholars nationwide and have helped a total of 2,733 scholars since it started. Majority of the military orphans they support are in Mindanao – 45%, while the rest are in Luzon – 37%, Visayas – 11% and NCR – 7%.
