Malapitan celebrates birthday with livelihood package for Caloocan residents
CALOOCAN CITY, Philippines–As Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan celebrated his 44th birthday, he presented 44 beneficiaries with sari-sari store and bigasan livelihood packages on Monday, November 6, during the city’s flag-raising ceremony.
The chosen recipients took part in a Facebook contest by explaining their need for the support, complying with the contest’s guidelines.
“Bilang inyong alkalde, isa po ito sa aking simpleng pamamaraan upang higit na makatulong sa ating mga kababayan ngayong aking kaarawan. At ano pa nga ba ang mas magandang biyaya na matatanggap ko sa aking kaarawan kundi ang pagseserbisyo at pagtulong sa ating kapwa nang may aksyon at malasakit,” Malapitan said.
He further reassured the community that the initiative is an expression of gratitude for their trust and promised that those not selected would not be forgotten.
“Sa lahat po ng mga Batang Kankaloo, maraming-maraming salamat sa inyong patuloy na pagtitiwala kaya naman po sa mga hindi man pinalad na mapili ngayon, sigurado po na mabibigyan kayo ng oportunidad na makinabang sa mga benepisyo mula sa iba nating mga proyekto at programa,” added Malapitan.
