College students in Lubao, Pampanga get educational subsidy from LGU
Mayor Esmie Pineda spearheaded the distribution of educational subsidies to aid the aspirations of approximately 2,000 college students in her hometown Lubao, Pampanga.
The distribution commences the celebration of Pineda’s birthday.
The educational subsidies were made possible through the municipality’s Educational Financial Assistance Program (EFAP), with a P4-million allocation from the local government for this purpose.
The distribution occurred in two venues, with the Santa Cruz gymnasium hosting students from the western barangays, while the municipal gymnasium gathered students from the eastern portion of Lubao.
The processing of subsidy applications began in April, initially offering a total of 2,500 slots. However, after a meticulous evaluation, close to 2,000 students qualified to receive the financial grants.
Under the program, each student received P2,000 for the upcoming semester, along with an additional P2,000 before the start of the second semester.
These funds aim to alleviate the financial burden on students, particularly those from the most economically disadvantaged families in the community. Most of the beneficiaries are enrolled at the esteemed Don Honorio Ventura State University.
It is important to note that students included in the special program for the employment of students (SPES) were excluded from this specific subsidy.
Mayor Pineda, in her unwavering commitment to supporting the dreams of every student in Lubao, pledged to allocate the remaining slots from the initial 2,500 for graduating college students.
This gesture underscores her dedication to empowering the youth and ensuring equal opportunities for all in pursuing their education.
The event, where the educational subsidies were distributed, showcased Mayor Pineda’s genuine concern for the future of the community’s youth. Her birthday celebration transcended personal joy, serving as a testament to her dedication to enhancing the lives of the constituents she serves.
With this support, the college students of Lubao, Pampanga can now concentrate on their studies and pursue their ambitions with renewed hope.
