Apex Mining Co. levels up social development program for stakeholders
Apex Mining Co. Inc. has reaffirmed its commitment to prioritize the growth and wellbeing of its stakeholders through the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), which exemplifies true corporate social responsibility.
With a budget allocation of P62.8 million, the company spent a total of P67.8 million in 2022, surpassing their original commitment.
“Our commitment to take care of the well-being of all our stakeholders remains constant,” according to the company’s president and chief executive officer, Luis R. Sarmiento, ASEAN Eng.
The mining firm’s investment in the community focuses on several key areas that encompass vital areas of growth and progress. The development of host communities received the most significant funding, with P52.62 million, while P16.66 million was spent to support various socio-cultural and religious endeavors.
It also allotted significant amounts towards education support; livelihood programs; health and medical assistance; public infrastructure’ information, education, communication; and the development of mining technology and geosciences.
In addition to investing in stakeholders outside the company, Apex Mining also puts the welfare of its employees at the top of its priorities. The company inaugurated an employee accommodation facility that provides a comfortable home-away-from-home for their high-performance team. Additionally, the newly constructed training center will be a hub of learning and upskilling for employees and community residents alike.
Furthermore, it extended its assistance in rebuilding classrooms devastated by Typhoon Odette in Siargao, reflecting the company’s genuine commitment to helping beyond just its community. Apex Mining’s CSR endeavors have undoubtedly left a positive impact on the communities they touch, transcending geographical boundaries.
